SSC dominate Army SC

SSC dominated proceedings against Army SC at the end of the third day’s play as they took a first innings lead in the Premier Super Eight match played at the CCC ground.

Army SC resuming from their overnight score of 128 for 3 helped by a top knock of 133 by allrounder Dushan Vimukthi put on a score of 319 runs.

Following on with a deficit of 269 runs to erase, Army ended the day on 144 for 2. This was in reply to SSC’s mammoth score of 582 for 9 declared which came on the back of a career best knock of 273 by Kaushal Silva.

Colts CC in reply to Chilaw Marians CC’s massive score of 560 runs were struggling at  133 for 5 but recovered thanks to a ton by skipper Priyamal Perera to end their innings with a respectable score of 308 runs.

Chilaw Marians standing on a lead of 252 runs ended day three on 233 for 2 with Oshada Fernando remain unbeaten on 112. This was his second ton of the match.

Tamil Union took a first innings lead against CCC in another high scoring match played at the FTZ ground in Katunayake while Saracens SC too has taken a first innings lead over NCC in the match played at the Colts ground. The matches will be continued today.
