Interior designers also require a strong sense of style and creativity when choosing furnishings and fabrics for their clients. They must be able to visualize the way different design components will come together in the end. Being able to effectively communicate with design teams, clients, Architects and Engineers is an important aspect of the job. Strong problem-solving, Project Management skills are also necessary because projects must be kept within the stated budget and timelineInterior designers may work for specialized design services firms, architectural businesses, furniture stores, or directly for the construction industry. However, most  of the interior design professionals are self-employed.

Therefore, becoming a professional interior designer takes more than creativity. A successful career in the field also requires formal education and training, discipline, determination and strong Business, Marketing and Management skills.
