Cold Play release new music as Los Unidades

The band Coldplay has released new music under new name called Los Unidades. But the new name is apparently a part time operation. Earlier their record label Parlophone Records announced a new deal for the group which confused fans. Los Unidades released a charity record titled ‘Global Citizen EP1’ on 30th November and is promoting the song ‘E-Lo’ featuring Pharrell Williams and Jozzy. The EP also contains the tracks ‘Timbuktu’ featuring Cassper Nyovest from South African, Jess Kent from Australia and Stormzy from the UK, ‘Voodoo’ featuring Stargate, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid.

Cheryl caught lip syncing

The pop singer Cheryl has not achieved superstar status, but she has always been  in the news for various reasons. When she appeared recently on the X-Factor live shows, and performed her new single ‘Love, Made Me Do It’, there were over 45 complaints to Ofcom, the UK’s TV regulator, as many considered her act to raunchy for the family show. On 29th November when she performed her set on the Graham Norton Show, many complained that Cheryl was lip-Syncing (miming to music). But she is not the only artist to be accused of Lip-Syncing. Recently Rita Ora and John Legend were accused of the same at Macy’s, Thanks Giving parade in New York.

Ariana Grande’s ‘thank U’ at the charts for over four weeks

Ariana Grande’s huge global hit song ‘thank U, next’ has now completed a month – four weeks at the top of the UK singles chart. The song sustained its hold on the No: 1 position without a supporting video which is rare these days. ‘thank U, next’ is the title track to the 25 year old Florida born singer’s next album. At this point of time no date has been set for the album release. Grande is basking in the glory with this break up anthem. The song has been certified with a Silver Disc by the BPI. Meanwhile on 30th November, the video for ‘thank U, next’ was released globally and within 24 hours broke the record for the most watched music video within 24 hours with over 46 million views.

Take That score fastest selling album

The group Take That have scored with the fastest selling album for 2018 for artists in the UK. Their new album ‘Odyssey’ debuted straight at the No: 1 on the UK album chart in the first week of release with combined sales of 106,000 copies of which 94% was through physical sales.

‘Odyssey’ is eight No: 1 album for the trio.

Ava Max hit makes it to the UK Chart

A newcomer to the scene Ava Max from the US whose song ‘Sweet But Psycho’, which has been big in Europe, has finally made it to the UK top 10 moving up from 13 to No: 6. It has been a laborious climb up for the pop track, starting at No: 77 its chart journey of six weeks. The pop track is being produced for the 24 year old by the heavyweight Canadian, Cirkut.

Little Mix hit holds out for second week at No. 2

The UK’s home act the all- girl group Little Mix hit ‘Woman Like Me’ featuring USA rap star Nicki Minaj is holding out for a second week at the No:2 spot on the singles chart. The song does not show signs of waning, but as we are heading in for the last few weeks of the year anything can happen.
