Renaissance of ‘Ex Generation’
View(s):‘Ex Generation’, the newest music outfit to break into the scene, is a combination of veterans into a new level.
The band C & C, which has been in the industry for over fifteen years, will launch its new line up of musicians in mid March and will be into action there onwards.
‘Ex Generation’ led by veteran musician Mahes Abeywickreme will pump up new blood into the local western music industry. Delivering ever popular retro music and the generations of music from the 60s to 90s ‘Ex Generation’ attract and keep the fans glued to their music which is appreciated by young and old alike.
The line up comprises of leader Mahes Abeywickreme on keyboards and vocals, Lalith Perera on Bass and vocals, Kumara Fernando on guitar and vocals and Prem Korathota on drums and vocals.
All four musicians are veterans in the field and have years of experience behind them. They have performed with many bands in Sri Lanka and have European club circuit experience in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France and in Scandinavian countries.
The band is known for their repertoire and chosen for dinner dances, corporate gigs, concerts and now performing in the capital Colombo’s leading Colombo City Hotel roof top on Fridays till midnight.
‘We have a wide range of repertoire starting from 60s to 90s and even modern day music to suit the new generations, not forgetting our own baila music. We are now ready to welcome the festive season with variety of acts and music styles’ said Lalith.
The bands repertoire range not only on time line but the genre of music such as Rock & Roll, R&B, Blues, Country, Raggae and rock too.
‘This new move is mainly for our old fans, which remain with us and promote us to new levels as a result of our passion to keep them fulfilled with our music. We always believe and work in expanding our wide repertoire and adjust according to the mood of the event which is one of the main factors why we are appreciated by our long standing fans’ said leader Mahesh.
