Indian Scholarships for Estate workers’ children

The Indian High Commission (IHC) has called for applications from the children of estate workers, for scholarships by the Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust (CEWET). These scholarships are available for GCE Advanced Level, Undergraduate courses and for students undergoing Vocational/Technical Education in Government Technical Colleges in Sri Lanka.

Those who have passed GCE Ordinary Level with minimum 6 Credit passes or, Advanced Level examination, and are under 25 years, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The completed applications forms must be accompanied by photocopies of birth certificate, result sheet of GCE OL / AL, latest salary slip of parents and Estate Superintendent’s certificate regarding parent’s occupation, the IHC said.

Application forms could either be downloaded from the IHC, Colombo, website www.hcicolombo.org. or, obtained from the IHC, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 and the Assistant High Commission of India, 31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy.

Duly completed forms should reach the Hon. Secretary, CEWET, c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882, Colombo 3, on or before November 9, 2018.
