The Cabinet has approved proposals by Education Minister Akila Viraj to set up two more Trilingual schools in Colombo and Nuwara Eliya.
It envisages Trilingual Mixed National Schools in Nanuoya, Nuwara Eliya, with an investment of Rs. 800 million, and in Wellawatte, Colombo, with an investment of Rs 900 million, for Grades 6-13.

The Cabinet, in order to improve the diversity in languages, also approved the proposal presented by President Maithripala Sirisena, as the Minister of Defence, to construct a modern Conference Hall facilitating about 150 trainees at a time, instead of the old Conference Hall with less facilities, at the Combined Service Language Training Institute, Kothmale.
