The Havelock Trophy another foursome event which is open to all members of the RCGC where partners are drawn randomly and probably the luck of the draw could matter was played with 30 competitive partnerships vying for the prize which is also an annual Board event. The event open to Men and Ladies with a Club Handicap are teamed up and adds to the fun, not knowing who you would partner!!!

However, looking at the competitive scores returned in the Havelock Trophy 2018, the Captain of RCGC Avancka Herath partnered by Louise Parsons registered a stunning 47 points to win the annual fellowship building Tournament, played in the Stableford format. U. A. Somaratne and Sarath Wickremaratne would consider themselves unlucky to have been relegated to Runners-up on a count-back on a better back nine as they too secured 47 points.

Three other partnerships accumulated 46 points but could not win the top two prizes. Manjula Chandrasoma and Deanath Kulathunga, Usha De Silva and Affli Raheem and Sharon Hall and Alok Malhotra, were unlucky to miss out on prizes by just one point, though the scoring was very high overall.

 HAVELOCK TROPHY 2018 FINAL RESULT

Winners: Louise Parsons and Avancka Herath 47 points (Count Back b/b/9)
Runners-up: Sarth Wickramaratne and U A Somaratne 47 points
