World champions India made amends for their 1-2 ODI defeat in the Indo-Sri Lanka bilateral Cricket series by pulling off an easy 4-1 victory in the T20 series concluded at the BRC grounds last Tuesday.

In the T-20 5-match series, India started off with a 7-wicket win in the 1st match and went on to dominate the series as World champs. Sri Lanka managed to win the 3rd match by 9 runs. India’s batting strength was exhibited by Sunil Ramesh (B3), Durga Rao (B3) and skipper Ajay Reddy (B2) while their bowling was spearheaded by Naresh Tumda (B1), Sunil Ramesh and Amol Karche (B1).

For Sri Lanka, Chandana Deshapriya (B3), Ajit Silva (B1) and Chandana Sooriyarachchi (B3) were outstanding with the bat, while the local bowlers failed to contain the fast scoring Indians.

Sri Lanka’s World Cup winning Captain Arjuna Ranatunga was the Chief Guest and distributed the awards.

Sri Lanka team will travel to India in October to play a Triangular series of 5 ODIs and 5 T20 involving India and England.
