The 4th big match between Thelijjawila Central College and Siddartha College Weligama ended in a draw at the Uyanwatta stadium as predicted.
The Theli-Sidu Battle of the Thrones is a four innings game which is played in a day and in addition this year the start was delayed by over an hour due to a lengthy opening ceremony and almost a session lost to rain and bad light.
Siddartha College invited to bat first were in dire straits losing both openers with the score on four but an 89 run third wicket partnership between Harsha Dilshan (55 off 38 balls) and Chathuranga Lakmal (45 off 54 balls) and an unbeaten last-wicket stand of 73 between Pankaja Pasindu (56 not out off 63 balls) and Kasinidu Keshara (20 not out) helped them declare their innings at 201/9.
Uchira Malith captured three wickets while Kaweesh Dilhara captured two wickets and three batsmen were run out.
Most of the second session of the day was lost due to rain and Thelijjawila Central were 48/5 when the game was called off due to bad light. Pulasthi Induwara was unbeaten on 31 while Kasinidu Kesara, Tharinda Pasindu and Ishara Harsha captured a wicket each while two batsmen were run out.
