Hashini Hettigoda, 16, won the School Girls’ Single Scull finals on the third day of the 33rd Sri Lanka National Rowing Championship held at the Diyawannawa Rowing Centre. Hashini finished first while Chethya Liyanage of Vishakha Vidyala came in second place and Anithra Fernando of Ladies College was able to secure the third place.

The Under-18 Girls’ Single Scull was also won by Hashini with a timing of 8 minutes and 48 seconds. In addition, Musaeus College was able to grab the silver medal in the Girls’ Under-18 Fours represented by Binali de Alwis, Mayanthi Weerakoon, Hashini Hettigoda, Nethmini Sirimanne and Binuri Gunewardena while Thanushi Perera and Thamadansi Hewage were awarded the bronze medal for the Under-18 Pair event. The bronze medal for the Double Scull was won by Binali de Alwis and Thanushi Perera.
