Maskeliya Plantations PLC., owned by Richard Pieris Group of Companies emerged Cup Champions at the 7- a-side Annual Rugby Tournament among the plantation companies.
Captained by Tharaka Damminda, with the support of fromer Dharmaraja college skipper Thanushka Mahawatte former Rugger Captain of Dharmaraja College, Kandy, former Rugger captains of St. Anthony’s College, Neouman Dilan and Pasindu Dulshan in the 2016, the winners put on a spirited effort to clinch the title.Maskeliya Plantations PLC., beat Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation by 75-0, James Finlay Limited by 27- 05 , Watawala Plantations PLC., by 35-05 and drew with Malwatte Valley Plantation PLC., 12-12.
