Prasansana slams 200 n.o., Negombo CC amass 490/6
A career best knock by Prasansana Jayamanne who slammed an unbeaten double ton helped Negombo CC amass a score of 490 for 6 declared against Kurunegala YCC played at Kurunegala.
Prasansana’s marathon knock from 364 balls comprised 26 boundaries and a six and was also associated in three big partnerships first of 109 runs for the second wicket with Praveen Fernando who made 79. This was followed by a 120 runs for the third wicket with Sachin Dalpathado (67) and a 130 run stand for the fifth wicket with Shehan Weerasinghe who scored 85. Negombo CC declared their innings after Prasansana reached his double ton. Kurunegala YCC in their turn ended day three on 181 for 5.
A fine knock of 75 by Madawa Nimesh helped Kalutara TC who was struggling on 89 for 7 make a grand recovery to end with a respectable score of 196 against Air Force SC who made 226 on day one in the match played at Katunayake. Air Force SC batting the second time crashed to 55 for 8 before recovering to end the day on 110 for 8.
Galle CC and Lankan CC were on top against Navy SC and Police SC when play stopped on day two at Dambulla and Mattegoda. The matches will be continued today.
