The three-member experts committee appointed to identify officials responsible for last month’s fuel shortage will submit its report next week. Petroleum Ministry Secretary Upali Marasinghe said the committee’s report would likely be handed in either on Wednesday or Thursday.

The three-member committee comprises two senior Government officials and one outside technical expert. The technical experts’ committee was appointed on the recommendation made by a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Special Assignments Minister Sarath Amunugama.
