Annual Research Symposium by Colombo University, Nov.14-28
View(s):To provide a platform for a wide array of academic discussions and bring together Researchers of various disciplines representing different Depts, the University of Colombo (UoC) is organizing the Annual Research Symposium, from Nov.14-28, at its premises.
The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on Nov.15 (Wednesday) at the Auditorium of the Administrative Block, College House, commencing 8.30 am, under the patronage of UoC Vice Chancellor Prof Lakshman Dissanayake.
Chief Justice Priyasath Dep will be the Chief Guest, while the Keynote Speaker will be Prof. A. P. De Silva, Professor of the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom.
The central theme of the Symposium is “Research for Development: Challenges and Opportunities”.
The Symposium provides a platform to present more than 300 abstracts on both theoretical and empirical research across broad disciplines representing Education, Fine arts, Humanities, Law, Management & Finance, Medicine, Science & Technology. The themes of the different Faculties are as follows:
- Arts- “The Role of Humanities & Social Sciences in Research for Development;
- Education- “Research for Development: Challenges and Opportunities”
- Law- “Legal Research for Development: Challenges and Opportunities”
- Medicine- “Research for Development: Promoting Innovation to Drive Healthcare
- Science- “Science for Sustainable Development”
- Technology- “Technology for Environmental Sustainability”
- Graduate Studies- “New Trends in Education, Health and Security for Human Development”.
