The Sri Lanka ruggerites experienced the highs and the lows on the opening day of the Asian Rugby Sevens series (second leg) at the Nam Dong Asiad Stadium in Seoul, South Korea
Pitted against the Asian power-house, Japan in the first game, the Sri Lankans made hardly any impression while suffering a 5-47 rout. Happier times were ahead, when the Sri Lankans drew with China 26 all. Mututhantri’s team was able to put it post the Chinese Taipei team in a close contest 26-24
Star Centre Danushka Ranjan leads the try scores with 4. Jason Dissanaike lies close behind with 3. Tharinda Ratwatte scored one try and effected four conversions.
The Sri Lankans have entered the quarter-finals of the Cup competition and will meet Hong Kong this morning

By Virtue of having conceded fewer points against them, China occupies the second spot in Pool A, Sri Lanka conceded 97 points in their three matches, while china gave away only 77.
