Vibuda Wijebandara to represent Sri Lanka at Commonwealth Games Tennis

Vibuda Wijebandara, of Ananda College Colombo, has been selected to represent Sri Lanka in Tennis at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games 2017 to be held in Bahamas, Caribbean Island from July 19 to 25.

Vibuda excelled at trial matches, beating all contenders including top seeded Avindra Perera to achieve this milestone. Vibuda has won all Under-16 titles in the year 2016 including Junior National Single and Double Championships.

He participated at the Junior Davis Cup International Tournament representing Sri Lanka. Vibuda has also represented the Sri Lanka Under-14 teams on two occasions at international event held abroad.

A up and coming youngster from Ananda College Colombo who was the captain of the school’s Under-17 team and a member of the Under-19 team, he has also represented school cricket in Under-13 and Under-15 age categories s well. To add to his laurels Vibuda has obtained nine ‘A’ passes at the GCE Ordinary Level examination held in 2016. He is also a leading member of the Ananda College Broadcasting Unit.
