Security Forces, Police on standby during exams- Exams Dept
View(s):The Exams Dept will seek the services of the Security Forces (SF) in the event of a natural disaster during the forthcoming GCE (A/L) exam, and for the Grade 5 Scholarship exam next month, as well, said Commissioner General of Exams, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara.
He said they intend to discuss with the SF and the Police next week, on the assistance they could provide in the event of a natural disaster. “We will have their services on standby,” he said.
The A/L exam will be held from August 8 to September 2, with 315,227 candidates including 237,943 school candidates in 2,330 centres, while the Grade 5 Scholarship exam will be held on August 20 with 356,728 candidates in 3,014 centres, with 266,227 sitting the exam in the Sinhala medium. - (DW)
