RIC secures Overall Championship for the 7th successive year

The 14th Annual Gampaha District Swimming Meet 2017 was held on July 8 and 9 at Regent International College swimming pool. The Regent International College hosted the swimming meet for 37 participating schools in Gampaha District and was sanctioned by Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.

The swimming meet was declared open by the Principal of Regent International College, Chrishanthi Wickramaarachchi. A large gathering of parents and students were present to cheer their respective schools.

The Girls’ championship was won by Regent International College with 354 points and the Boys’ championship by Loyola College 275 points. The overall championship was awarded to Regent International College, Gampaha with 621 points. The Chief Guest together with the Managing Director, Anura Gunasekera and the Principals of the school participated to distribute the medals and the certificates to winners.

The Master- in-charge of swimming, at Regent International College, Ruwan Dangalla organised the entire meet with the assistance of external judges. The distinguished Chief Guest for the event was Kaushal Manawadu, who was the Gold Medalist at South Asian Games 2017. Regent International College sponsored the event together with Jeya Book Shop, Sri Lanka Insurance Cooperation Limited and Tech Waters.
