45 Schoolchildren perished in the recent devastation
View(s):A total of 45 schoolchildren died in the recent floods and landslides. Among them are 18 from the Sabaragamuwa Province, of which 16 are from the Ratnapura District and 2 from the Kegalle District. The Western Province reported 17 schoolchildren dead, of which 8 are from the Matugama area and 9 from the Horana area. The Southern Province reported 10 schoolchildren dead, of which 6 are from Matara District and 4 from the Hambantota District, an Education Ministry official said.
