Wesely batsman Thilina Perera sweeps one to the boundary on his way to 160

The centenary inter-school cricket encounter between Wesley and St. Joseph’s which concluded at the Campbell Park yesterday turned out to be a memorable one for Wesley’s Thilina Perera.
The right handed batsman played out an innings that will be etched in the record books when he slammed a 225 ball knock of 160 that included 27 hits to the ropes and two over it.
Tilina’s knock helped Wesley recover from a perilous 98 for 5 to end with a formidable score of 324.

The Josephians scored 268 for 9 declared on Friday.St. Sebastian’s recorded an outright win by 62 runs over De Mazenod in a low scoring match concluded at Kandana.
Thilan Nimesh’s allround performance helped Prince of Wales to record a first innings win against DSS on day two in the match played at Moratuwa. Thilan’s knock of 111 saw Prince of Wales taking first lease of the wicket on day one to make a score of 266 for 9.

Ananda too prevailed with a first inning win over St. Peter’s in the match played at Ananda Mawatha. Ananda in reply to St. Peter’s score of 182 made a score of 209 for 9 declared.
