Harsha Sritharan is a young stockbroker employed as an Assistant Manager at NDBS Stockbrokers for the past four years. Here’s his candid view about his job and what makes him tick.

1)When and what made you join the capital market?
I joined the capital market towards the end of 2012. I am from a mathematics background and working with numbers is something I have always liked. Plus I wanted to be in a field which is dynamic and that helps me stay updated on the world trends in general. Thus I wanted to be a stockbroker.

2) What was the
first day like?

I was given an insight as to what was expected from me and was excited watching other stockbrokers speaking to their clients and how transactions happen.

3) How has the last few years been?

Challenging, due to the tough market conditions.

4) What memorable
experience can
you recall?

The first block trade I executed.

5)) What advise would you give newcomers?

Read and stay updated and enjoy the job.

6) What changes will you want to see in the next 5 years?

To work with a wider range of assets and not just be restricted to trading in shares and debentures.
