‘Dutugemunu’ theatrical production by Iranganai Kalutanthri will go on the boards at 6.30p.m. On September 9 at the Town Hall, Piliyandala.

The theme is based on the life story of king
‘Dutugemunu’ a group of pilgrims in Anuradhapura, in front of the statue of King Dutugemunu at Ruwanveli Seya, express their, disgust and lamentations, about the hideous state of affairs prevalent in the country. The statue breathes in to life and his life story is unrolled on stage.

The cast in ‘Dutugemunu’ includes Dinidu Ekanayaka, Chithrananda Kumarapperuma, Menaka Sinharage, Saman Pushpawarna, Dhanushik Rajakaruna, Nalanda Kularatne, Suranga Wickramasinghe, Wimal Asoka, Yarnuna Subhashini, Sisira Jayakodi, Gayan Chathuranga, Dushan Wiranga, Asanga de Soysa, Chamara Gajaweera and Supun Anurudha. Music
direction of the play is by Lalith Amarasinghe and singing is by Titus C. Perera.
