Krishan 6/20 shines for MJF
HNB ‘B’, HSBC ‘C’, Heshan Flex Packaging, Janashakthi Insurance, EB Creasy, MJF Exports, Hayleys Group ‘B’ and Nippon Paint advanced to the quarter-finals of the 1st Commercial Credit & Finance PLC sponsored, MCA Division ‘F’ 25-Over League Tournament, last weekend.
The pre-quarter-finals’ batting honours went to Vindika Nadira of Janashakthi Insurance, who scored 86 in 59 balls, inclusive of 3 sixes and 5 fours, against Arpico SC. Janashakthi won the match by a comfortable margin of 58 runs.
The bowling honours went to Krishan Rajendra of MJF Exports, who snapped up 6 for 20 in 4.5 overs against MAS Active ‘C’, who were shot out for a paltry 70 runs in 15.5 overs, thus handing MJF Exports a runaway 9-wicket win. The tournament will continue this weekend with the following quarter-final matches: At MCA: HNB ‘B’ vs. HSBC ‘C’; Hayshan Flex Packaging vs. Janashakthi Insurance At Mattegoda: EB Creasy vs. MJF Exports; Hayleys ‘B’ vs. Nippon Paint. The semi-finals are scheduled for July 16, while the final will be played on July 30 at the MCA.
