Two pugilists try out their luck at the ABA Championsip

Boxers from the Sri Lanka Army (men and women) showed off their capabilities by winning 12 medals at the (ABA) Annual Boxing Championships at the Royal College Boxing Ring.

The Army men’s boxing team won 4 Gold Medals and 5 Silver Medals while the Army women bagged two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal.

Dilip Ruwan Sanjeeva of the Sri Lanka Navy was adjudged as the Best Boxer defeating E.D.Dilshan of MAS MDS in the Flyweight 52 kg.

In the women’s section Harshani Chamodi Pasyala (Fly Weight 51 kg) out boxed N.L. Silva (MAS Silueta) to take the Best Boxer’s title.

The Best Loser was D.Prasanga Dilshan of MAS MDS in the men’s section while in the women’s section Nimesha Lakmali Silva (MAS Silueta) was adjudged the Best Loser.
