Give2SriLanka – crowd fundraising for charities
View(s):‘Give2SriLanka’ was launched recently with the aim of working for improvement of living conditions for needy Sri Lankans. The organization, formally registered as GIVE2LANKA, is the brainchild of internationally recognized consultant and former Chairman of Berendina, the largest conglomerate of local non-profit humanitarian service organizations in Sri Lanka, Dulan de Silva. He said the company seeks to fund deserving causes addressed by Sri Lankan non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations and charities that are handicapped in continuing their commitment toward such work due to frozen or limited international funding.
Initiated as a project of the Berendina group to support ‘Bright Poor children’s’ education and employment this now goes beyond that to assist this cause as well as other deserving causes. Give2SriLanka’s crowd funding website ensures a gateway to fulfill the gap between needy and the giving, he said in a media release. ”Mr. de Silva is ably supported by a team of decision makers from other similar organizations and private sector with vast exposure in allied disciplines. They eventually have formed into a resourceful outfit to best select, fund, monitor and evaluate causes of local NGOs as a solution in uplifting Sri Lankan livelihoods.
