Vallibel Finance and Kanrich Finance ‘B’ remained unbeaten with three wins a piece in the ongoing 13th Ceylon Cold Stores PLC sponsored, ‘Elephant House Lemonade’ Trophy, MCA Division ‘D’ 40-over League Tournament 2016, continued last weekend.

A notable double by Yasas Alwis (40 runs and 5 for 35 in seven overs) spearheaded Vallibel Finance to a 34-run win over Asian Alliance Insurance. Kanrich Finance ‘B’, after restricting Dialog Axiata ‘A’ to 110 runs in 31 overs, raced to their target in 19 overs to win by five wickets.

The highest team total and lowest team total were registered in the same match; AMW Group scoring 259 for 8 in 40 overs and beating Aitken Spence PLC by 197 runs, they being all out for a paltry 62 runs in 19.1 overs.

Weekend’s noteworthy individual performances came from A. Withanarachchi from Expolanka Group (56 vs. Central finance), S. Sanjaya from Hilton Colombo Residences (51 not out vs. Bodyline), Malintha Gajanayake from Hilton Colombo Residences (56 not out vs. Bodyline), A. Tillakawardena from NTB Bank ‘B’ (56 vs. AMW Group), A. Dias from Commercial Credit ‘B’ (71 vs. Brumby’s), P. Ranaweera from AMW Group (66 vs. Aitken Spence), A. Perera from Com. Leasing (79 vs. United Tobacco) and Isuru Sampath from Asian Alliance (5 for 35 in 8 overs vs. Vallibel Finance). The tournament will continue this weekend with a card of nine matches.
