Navy SC grabbed honours against BRC at the crucial Emerging Trophy cricket encounter played at the BRC ground. The game is crucial for both the teams as the outcome of this game will decide who will emerge the champion.

The opening day’s play on Friday saw Navy SC dominate when play ended as they bowled out the home team for a low score of 149 and in their turn made 166 for 7.

The second day’s play saw the late order batting of Navy SC putting in stiff resistance with useful knocks coming from Ashan Ranasinghe and Dilanka Auwardt helping them to end with a score of 256.

BRC batting the second time with a deficit of 109 runs was in a spot of bother with the score on 126 for 4 which has given the edge to Navy SC with over four sessions of play left to be played.

Nipuna Gamage and Sahan Perera was involved in a valuable unbroken stand of 108 runs for the third wicket helping Moratuwa SC go into lunch on day two with the score on 127 for 2 against Kurunegala YCC in the match played at Kurunegala.

Kurunegala YCC helped by half tons from Anuruddha Rajapakse, Kalpa Bandaranayake and Dharshana Mahawatte put up a score of 289.

Kalutara PCC were 199 for 6 in reply to Panadura SC’ 297 when play stopped for lunch on the second day in the match played at Panadura while Air Force SC had taken a first inning over Kalutara TC at Air Force ground in Katunayake.

Police SC resuming from their overnight score of 79 for 3 went on to make 244 against Lankan CC who were 161 for 6 in the post lunch session in the match played at FTZ ground in Katunayake.
