The appointment of a new Attorney General (AG) has been further postponed after President Maithripala Sirisena this week failed to forward his nominee to the Constitutional Council.

Solicitor General Suhada Gamlath who was appointed acting AG till January 18, has been asked to stay on in the post till a permanent appointment is made, the Sunday Times learns.
