Kanrich Finance ‘B’ opened their campaign on a vibrant note winning a double header, in the ongoing 13th Ceylon Cold Stores PLC, ‘Elephant House Lemonade’ Trophy, MCA ‘D’ division 40 Over League Tournament 2016, continued last week-end.
On Saturday, Kanrich snuffed out United Tobacco Industries by seven wickets and followed up with another massive win by 150 runs over Softlogic Holdings.

Kanrich Finance went home to lunch, as United Tobacco simply hand no-answer against the spin of Akila Dhananjaya, who snapped up 7 for 12 in 7.1 overs, including 3 maidens and a hat-trick (2nd hat-trick in the tournament)
The first hat-trick was performed by Dilshan Ratnayake from Vallibel Finance (6.3-1-26-7) against DPMC on January 16 at Thurstan College grounds.

Opening batsman Shalika Thiwanka scored a well compiled 88 in 113 balls, inclusive of three sixes and six fours to spearhead Kanrich Finance ‘B’ to a comfortable win over Softlogic Holdings.
Right arm off spinner, Nimesh Fernando dealt a severe body blow with an impressive spell of 7.3-3-26-6, to steer Central Finance to a close 3 wickets win over Bodyline.

Malintha Gajanayake on his home grounds struck a stylish 88 not out in 68 balls, studded with six sixes and 10 fours as Hilton Colombo Residences sneaked through to a four wickets win over Expolanka Group.
The hoteliers, who were reeling at 49 for 5 in 17 overs in reply to Expolanka’s moderate total of 157 runs in 29.5 overs, was rescued by Gajanayake and Keshan de Soysa (28 in 51 balls) with a 100 runs stand for the sixth wicket in 94 balls.

A 150 run 3rd wicket stand between Dilshan Peiris (57) and Indunil Paranamana (74 in 63 balls with a six and 10 fours) enabled David Pieris Motor Co. to amass 306 for 9 in 48 overs and beat AMW Group by a huge margin of 170 runs. - LR
