Left arm spinner Ishan Samsudeen shone with a match bag of 11 wickets in Zahira’s close first inning win over Bandaranayake MV Gampaha in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Zahira ground in Maradana.

Zahira having dominated proceedings on day one after bowling out the visitors for a score of 184 and ending the day on 171 for 6 underwent some anxious moments before they managed to make a score of 195 to gain a first inning win.

Bandaranayake MV batting the second time was propelled by half tons from Sasiri Adhikari (88) and Vinoj Sriwinda (60). Sasiri was associated in a 122 runs stand for the fifth wicket Wageesha Wanniarachchi which helped the side make a score of 222.

For Zahira Ishan who ended with a five wicket haul grabbed another six.
Zahira set a target of 212 runs going for quick runs ended the day on 147 for 8.
