University of Peradeniya team wins Holcin competition, wins trip to Malaysia, Singapore

A team from the University of Peradeniya won the Inter-University Concrete Mix Design Competition organised by Holcim Lanka in which five teams from the universities of Peradeniya, Moratuwa and Ruhunu took part.
The winning team was presented with a tour of the LafargeHolcim plant in Malaysia and Centre of Excellence in Singapore, Holcim Lanka said in a media release. The objective of the competition was to impart practical and theoretical knowledge in the specialised area of concrete mix design, providing students with valuable exposure to working with concrete as well as encouraging them to work in teams, the release said.
