The chief guests with participants

The event was graced by guests of honour; Deputy Minister Public Enterprise Development and Member of Parliament representing the Moratuwa Electorate, Eran Wickramaratne and his wife Kushlani Wickramaratne.

The production was directed by Dr. Priyeshni Peiris-Perera, Director of the Prestantia Music School.

The event opened with the Prestantia Chorale; singing the National Anthem in four-part harmony, in both Sinhala and Tamil languages, arranged and directed by Dr. Priyeshni Perera.

The first rendition of the arrangement was dedicated to Mr. Wickramaratne. In Dr. Perera’s own words the hope is that “this choral music initiative will contribute in a small way towards ethnic reconciliation in our mother land”.

More than 130 students and performers presented 34 items within 2 and half hours representing an interesting repertoire which flowed smoothly from one to another.

The evening was concluded by a joint finale “When you believe” sung by Prestantia Chorale and the students of Prestantia Music School.
