‘Lyrics DVD’ OF ‘Golden Oldies’
View(s):A lyrics DVD comprising old favorites will be launched by the Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF) during their ‘Down Memory Lane’ sing-along scheduled for 29th November, at Ramadia Ranmal Holiday Resort , Moratuwa.
This DVD will include over 20 songs traditionally sung at this concert including ‘Old folks at home’, ‘My bonnie lies’, ‘Clementine,’ ‘Home on the range’, ‘Have I told you lately’, ‘Silver haired daddy’, ‘Galway Bay’, ‘ Mary Ann’, ‘Under the bridges of Paris’, ‘Whispering hope’, ‘Red River Valley’, ‘Silver threads’, ‘Ashgrove’, ‘Cockles & mussels’, ‘Love letters in the sand’, ‘Tom Dooley’, ‘From a jack to a king’ and many more.
All songs are sung by the galaxy of MAF singers - most of whom are household names in the local firmament of music.
This ‘Lyrics DVD’ is ideal for any house party or fellowship get-together as you could enjoy and sing-along with the singing heard and lyrics displayed.
It is quite different from a karaoke presentation as the singing is not muted – with songs rendered audibly along with colourful visuals and meaningful music.
This lyrics DVD was an idea of former President Sarath Goonewardene, who himself will be in charge of the production.
This will be a treasured collection for old favouriteS lovers as this type of vintage repertoire is hardly sung or produced in the local music scene.
