Dialog’s ‘Play for a Cause’ generates Rs. 668,000 at 136th Battle of the Blues

Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, Dialog Axiata PLC, as the official sponsor of the 136th Battle of the Blues’ cricket encounter between Royal College, Colombo and S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia pledged to contribute 1,000 rupees per every run scored and 10,000 rupees for every wicket taken at the three day encounter. The proceedings of the ‘Play for a Cause’ initiative, amounting to Rs. 668,000 will be directed, in consultation with the Principal and Warden of Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, to support the development of cricket in a resource deficit school.
At the 136th Royal-Thomian cricket encounter, 488 runs was scored and 18 wickets fell despite the adverse weather conditions which led the match to a draw.

Dialog Axiata has a long association with schools’ cricket and has powered Big Matches across all provinces of Sri Lanka with a view to supporting the development of cricketing talent from grass root to national and international levels.
