Trinity recorded a close two wickets win with eight balls to spare over a fighting Anthonian outfit in their limited over game at Asgiriya.
Chasing a slightly formidable 237 for a win, Trinity had just passed the 140 mark when the seventh wicket fell. But skipper Raveen Sayer and pacie Lahiru Sanjaya put on a precious 65 for the eighth wicket to throw them a life-line.

Earlier, Nushan Weerasinghe made a fairly sedate, yet confident 96 to put his team on the road to a win. Weerasinghe drove well well on either side and had many singles.

Skipper Wijetunga, Mahindaratne and Wanasinghe all had two wickets apiece.

The Anthonians who won the toss and batted were indebted to left handed opener Kanishka Ukgalpaya wjo made a determined hundred in 85 balls. He had a six and six fours. Latterly he was by a leg injury but carried on gamely. Dilan Bandara struck the ball sweetly in his innings of 47. Number three bat Mohammed Alfer played an elegant knock of 36.

Sayer had the best figures of 2 for 36.
