Dharmaraja scored a resounding innings and fifty run win over Kingswood in their 109th Big Match concluded at the Pallekele Stadium.
The architect of the victory was fast medium bowler Lahiru Samarakoon who had a match bag of 10 for 108. The tall Samarakoon extracted quite a bit of pace and lift and troubled many batsmen.

Resuming at 79 for 5, Kingswood was bowled out for 152 with the overnight pair of Dilshan Walisundera and Ruwantha Hathurusinghe making meaningful contributions of 41 and 30 respectively.

Ruchira Pupulewatte and Kavishka Dissanaike helped in the mopping up operation.

On the first day, a hundred from Pupulewatte and good knocks from Dissanaike, Gunasinghe and Nivantha Herath helped the Rajans to amass 306 for 6.

This is Dharmaraja’s fourth win in the last five years.
