Lahiru Milantha scored a fine 110 inclusive of eight boundaries and a six while Eranga Ratnayake made 85 with 16 boundaries to help Ragama CC to record a first innings win over Tamil Union in the Premier league cricket encounter concluded at P. Sara Stadium yesterday.

The duo added a valuable partnership of 138 runs for the fifth wicket enabling Ragama CC to end day two on 320 for 6. The third day’s play saw Ragama CC, being unable to make any headway as their lower order batsmen failed to make any impression, being bowled for the addition of 61 runs for a score of 381.

This was in reply to Tamil Union’s score of 290 which came on the back of half tons by Rumesh Buddika and Manoj Sarathchandra.

Army SC took a first innings lead over Chilaw Marians when play stopped on the second day at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

Army SC after being restricted to 136 fought back through their spin double Seekkuge Prasanna and Ajantha Mendis and pacie Shalika Karunanayake to skittle out the Marians, resuming on their overnight score of 27 for 4, to a low total of 122.

NCC having ended with a score of 256 for 7 on day one, went on to make 309 on the second day against Bloomfield in the match at the NCC ground.

Bloomfield in their turn was making steady progress and was well placed on 168 for 4 but lost wickets at regular intervals. They were restricted to 209 giving a first innings lead to NCC.

SLPA CC was in a strong position against Saracens SC when play stopped on the second day at the CCC ground. SLPA CC having restricted their opponents to a score of 210, was guided by Dhananjaya de Silva who hit 109 and Ashan Priyanjan (92) to make a bold reply of 304 for 6.

Moors SC was on top against SSC when play stopped on day two at the SSC ground. SSC’s batting failed for the second successive week as they succumbed to a score of 220 while Moors SC steered by skipper Dilahara Lokuhettige and Oshada Fernando ended the day by making 299 for 8.
Skipper Milinda Siriwardena and Supeshala Jayatileke cracked half tons enabling Badureliya SC post a score of 305 against Air Force SC at Surrey Village ground in Maggona. Air Force SC in their turn was able to muster only 188.
