Kegalu Vidyalaya helped by Kosala Bandara 5/31 and Tharuka Wijesinghe 4/49 and an unbeaten 65 runs by Menuka Ranasinghe registered a first innings win against Rahula College at the Uyanwatte Stadium.

Rahula batting first after a delayed start due to rain were 131/8 at stumps on day one and were restricted to a first innings total of 142 runs by Kosala Bandara and Tharuka Wijetunga.

Kegalu Vidyalaya in reply were 50/6 when Menuka Ranasinghe unbeaten on 65 off 96 balls with seven boundaries and a six together with Tharuka Wijetunga (31) put on 66 runs for the seventh wicket after which Menuka and Dilshan Pathirana (25 not out) put on another 41 runs to see their team to a first innings win before the declaration was made with the score at 167 depriving Menuka the opportunity to reach a possible hundred.

Rahula had lost five wickets for 113 runs in their second innings at the close of play.
