Uva Province new Cabinet sworn-in
View(s):The new Cabinet of the Uva Provincial Council under Chief Minister Harin Fernando was announced this week. The new ministers took their oaths before the Governor M.P.Jayasinghe. The Chief Minister is to hold the portfolios of Finance, Policy Planning, Law and Peace, Education, Social Welfare, Rural Development and Infrastructure.
Provincial Council Minister Ravindra Samaraweera has been appointed as the new Minister for Transport and Road Development, Housing and Water, Cooperatives, Animal Products and Cultural Affairs, while V. Suresh has been named as the Minister of Sports, Youth affairs, Textiles, Infrastructure for Small Industries and Education in the plantation sector. Minister Anura Vidhanagamage has been appointed as the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, Inland Fisheries, Industries, Lands and Tourism. J.M.Ananda Kumarasiri was appointed as the Minister of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Probation and Women’s Affairs.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Governor’s Office with the participation of the Uva Provincial Council Secretary G.B.Amarasekera and the Governor’s Secretary H.M.Somatilleka.
