Anantaya provides drinking water to neighbouring schools daily
View(s):Anantaya Resorts & Spa, Chilaw, as part of a community development project, is providing drinking water to two underprivileged schools on a daily basis, reaching out to 250 students.
The two schools, Karukapane Government Tamil School & Korayapura Sinhalese School, are situated in the neighbourhood of Anantaya in Karukapane and face many challenges due to poor facilities and lack of funding. One of the main issues was the lack of clen drinking water for the students, the hotel said.
Anantaya is providing bottled water to these students for their daily needs, the latest in a series of community development projects carried out by the hotel as a responsible neighbour. Previously, the hotel has empowered the people of its surrounding areas through employment opportunities, training and partnerships with local suppliers, and various CSR activities for community development.
Anantaya Resorts & Spa falls under the leisure arm of LAUGFS Holdings Ltd and is the first and only luxury beach resort in the area.
