After being led in the first three quarters of the game, Avant Garde came firing in the final quarter to turn the tables on Air Force and post a 67 to 60 point win in their men’s on going Carlton Cup Super 8 basketball fixture tournament at Pedris Park.

At the end of the first quarter, Air Force were in the lead with 13 points to Avant Garde’s six and at the half time mark, they were still ahead with 32 to Avante Garde’s 15.

After the turn around Air Force still held onto their lead and at the end of the third quarter it was 47 to 38 in favour of Air Force.

But came the final quarter and Avant Garde came with all cylinders firing. While Air Force added only 13 points in this session, Avante Garde added 29 and ran out winners with 67 to their opponents 60.

The shooting star for Avane Garde was F. Vukosarljevic with a staggering 39 points, while J. Gunasinghe added a further 8.

For the Air Force E. Eteimowel was on target with 19 points and O. Umayanga chased him home with 12.

Colombo BC post exciting win over HSC Blacks

Colombo BC posted an exciting 61 to 58 points win over HSC Blacks in their Carlton Super 8 basketball fixture at Pedris Park recently. At half time Colombo BC were in the lead with 49 points to 42.

The leading scorer for Colombo BC was J. Belic, while T. Neydorff was om target for HSC Blacks with 24. – BM
