Standard Chartered Bank and People Leasing battle for Division ‘F’ supremacy
High riding, Kanrich Finance ‘B’ came crashing down to their first defeat, losing to vastly improved Peoples Leasing Co. by 22 runs in the first semi-final of the Sierra IT-MCA Division ‘F’ 30-over League Tournament played at the MCA Grounds over the last weekend.
The match winners for PLC were Krishan Jayasanka (73 in 54 balls, inclusive of 6 sixes and 5 fours), Tharindu Harshana (4 for 35 in six overs) and Ruchira Jayasekara (3 for 23)

sensational spells of bowling by Sylwin Jamion (6 for 23) and Tharindu Fernando (4 for 8). This guided them to an easy 9-wicket win. Batting first Bodyline innings lasted only 6.5 overs and were dismissed for 41 runs with extras being the top scorer. Standard Chartered Bank needed only eight overs to knock off the required 41 runs as the entire match lasted for only 75 minutes.
Standard Chartered Bank will meet Peoples Leasing Co. in the Final at the MCA grounds.
