Opener Senura Amarasinghe scored 62 for Nalanda

The match as in the opening day was called off with Nalanda resuming on their overnight score of one for no loss on 248 for 5 at tea break and no play being possible due to bad light.

Senura made a 62 with six boundaries while Malinga was unbeaten on 90 which included seven boundaries and a six as the pair put on a valuable 95 runs partnership for the third wicket.

Later Malinga put on another fine partnership of 74 runs for the fifth wicket with Pramud Hettiwatte who chipped in with a 45 in 42 balls that included three boundaries and two sixes enabling Nalanda resuming on their overnight score of one for loss to make a score of 248 for 5 when play stopped for tea on day two.
