The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) and the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) are doing a great job in detecting not fit for human consumption food products. It is high time the CPA/CMC check the products in the market that carry the SLS stamp to find out if they really keep to the approved SLS standard.

Some years ago I pointed out a case where municipal tap water was filtered and bottled with SLS Stamp. This water was not passed through UV process but being sold for Rs. 100 a litre.

There is a need to check standards of products after SLS endorsement.
