Global consumer electronics maker Huawei launched its 2014 range of 4G-LTE enabled smart devices at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC), a top, and long-running, telecommunications industry event held in Barcelona, Spain.

According to a statement issued by the firm’s local unit, these products included the “world’s slimmest 7-inch phablet HUAWEI MediaPad X1, ‘talk and track’ companion HUAWEI TalkBand B1, the 8-inch entertainment powerhouse HUAWEI MediaPad M1, the HUAWEI Ascend G6 4G smartphone and the world’s first LTE Cat6 Mobile WiFi HUAWEI E5786″.

Quoted in the statement, the company’s Chief Executive for its Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, commented, “LTE will experience major growth in the coming three years as the volume of high speed networks increases and leads to a surge in mobile data traffic… This surge, caused by increased video streaming and call usage, will require innovative, high-end 4G LTE devices, and this is a priority for Huawei in 2014. With our 4G LTE-enabled device collection and expertise as the leading LTE network provider, Huawei Consumer BG is well placed to deliver a life without boundaries for more people in the era of 4G LTE”.
