OTHC down CH and FC ‘B’
Old Thomians Hockey Club defeated CH and FC ‘B’ 4-2 in their opening fixture of the Bacon Cup tournament fixture that was played at the Astro turf yesterday. At half time OTHC led 1-0. Scoring was opened in the 12th minute of play when Kusal Welaratne scored for the OTHC.
After the turn around, OTHC scored their second goal through Pasan Wijewardena in the 38th minute and in the 42nd and 50th minutes Shenal de Silva added a further two. For CH and FC ‘B’ the scorers were Imran Ghouse in the 52nd and D.N.A. Peiris in the 56th minute. The tournament will be continued from 8.00 am at the same venue today.
Other results: Old Senanayakians SC beat University of Moratuwa 2-0. Kotalawela Defence University beat Old Anandians ‘B’ 1-0.
Pioneer Cup: Old Wesleyites SC 3 (Aaqil Azmi 1 and M. Hassen 2) beat Gymkhana ‘B’ 0. BRC beat Old Anandians ‘A’ 6-1. – BM
