Kent Ridge extends University of Moratuwa Research to the industry Kent Ridge (Pvt) Ltd, the innovative Human Resources Management solutions provider, and the University of Moratuwa (UoM). Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) have jointly published a research compendium comprising the research work of MBA in IT programme students of UoM.

The main aim of publishing the compendium is to share the research findings with the industry, which is a pioneering initiative related to MBA research in Sri Lanka, the company said.

Titled “MBA-IT Research Compendium 2013″, the publication consists of 20 summaries of research studies relating to people management and was launched at a ceremony held at Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute recently.

“In the past, these research studies which are very relevant to the ICT industry in Sri Lanka have largely gone unnoticed. In order to harness the value of such research, rather than letting them go unnoticed, Dr. Chandana Gamage-Head of CSE Department discussed with me on the possibility of sharing the research with the industry and a wider audience by summarising and publishing them” said Janaka Kumarasinghe-Senior Visiting Lecturer UoM, Director of Kent Ridge (Pvt) Ltd, and Past President of IPM, Sri Lanka. “We feel that such endeavours will not only motivate the students and their dedicated supervisors, but also stimulate creating a research culture which is vital for knowledge creation in Sri Lanka,” Mr. Kumarasinghe who is also the editor of the compendium, said.

“Kent Ridge has aimed at achieving excellence by providing solutions to develop human resources and strengthen organisations from both the public and private sectors of Sri Lanka, as well as those from overseas countries.

As a result within a short span Kent Ridge has reached a wide customer base including fortune five hundred companies, five star hotels, global MNCs, local blue chip companies, national professional and sports bodies, banks and state universities,” the statement said.

The softcopy of the research compendium is available on www.kentridge.lk
