Misty and Harpo come alive at Mews
View(s):The Stables at the Park Street Mews, Colombo’s latest attaction, will features the dynamic and versatile band Misty with Rajitha, along with entertainment icon Harpo himself, to usher in the New Year 2014 in grand style. Misty will be in action at The Stables ( Air conditioned Warehouse )at PS MEWS complex. Along with DJ Harpo, Sri Lanka’s very first professional DJ, will be back at the console along with DJ Capital C for the evening’s programme.
Misty now comprises of Rajitha Rupasinghe – front line singing , Melina Fernando – Vocals, Dennis Alwis – Drums, Udaya Welikala – Keyboards, Sanjeewa Hettige – Bass and Sudath Munaweera on guitar.
Misty entered the local music arena when dynamic vocalist Rajitha expanded the duo-outfit into a fully-fledged six piece live pop and dance music group in 2001. Since its expansion Misty maintained its professionalism and popularity among all circuits of the Colombo society. Emerging to become the most wanted band in town to cater to the top corporate functions dinner dances and entertainment events, Misty reached the international arena that had taken them to great heights.
Popularly known as Harpo, Lanka’s first DJ and entertainer, Harpo Gooneratne has worked his way through the hospitality industry to become one of Sri Lanka’s great success stories. Though he is now out of the professional DJing, the maestro will join the band Misty to usher the New Year 2014 at ‘the Stables’.
