New hi-tech product range launched at food fair
View(s):Starline Enterprises, Ratmalana, a local industry known for its pioneering several new technologies in the manufacture of disposable packaging in Sri Lanka, launched a new product range at the recently concluded Pro-Food/Pro-Pack Exhibition held in Colombo.
The new ‘Yellow-Line Range’ enables the manufacturer to produce disposable packages including yoghurt cups, drinking cups, bowls, trays, plates etc at much lower costs than with the use of conventional methods of manufacture, according to Rohan B. Fernando, Managing Director of Starline Enterprises.
The company has also taken the initiative to organise the recollection of used cups, through an associate company, operating under the name and style of Go Green Lanka Recyclers, with the blessings and the support of Central Environment Authority and the Waste Management Authority. For the first time in Sri Lanka yoghurt cups and drinking cups are being collected for recycling purposes.
Mr. Fernando said a few years back, the company pioneered the manufacture of multi–layer yoghurt cups in Sri Lanka.
