Alston Koch put pen to paper on arrival in Australia this week before he jets off to Hollywood in a few days in what is a mega worldwide distribution deal with Phil Israel Chairman of Ctrl/Alt via UNIVERSAL.

With his album ‘Don’t Funk Me’ signed to Lifestyle/SONY last year and soon celebrating a No 2 position in the Southern Hemisphere.
Koch has now negotiated a huge ‘moving’ deal with the legendary Phil Israel, who has been watching his success closely.

Officially anointed as ‘THE FUNK MASTER’ by the Australian Record Industry Association (A.R.I.A) and ‘The good news chart success story of 2012’ by the Australian media, Alston Koch has now done the impossible and amazing ‘switch’ of moving from SONY distribution to UNIVERSAL.

This is something only the best recording artists dream of and only a very few accomplish. ‘An incredible singer songwriter and his last song ‘Trees of Babylon’ proves it and we are proud to have him here with us’ says a delighted Phil Israel. ‘He has written another hit which we will release this summer throughout the World including a few surprises we have discussed with Alston, which we will be announcing very soon.’ Phil added.

‘I am grateful to the people and fans who bought my last album as I have only just heard that it came in at No. 24 in the Top 100 best selling albums unto the end of the financial year’ and ahead of so many ‘better known artists’ in the 76 placing behind me, but
at the end of the day it is not how many TV appearances one makes these days but how many records you sell’ he added.

’The recording industry is a business no matter where you are, London, New York or Africa. You must treat it like a business’.
‘There was a time in the 70’s when I was on Channel 9’s  BANDSTAND every Saturday including appearances with ABBA, AC/DC and Bee Gees to name a few but that did not sell any of my records…’  said a very enthusiastic Alston Koch while signing off.
